There is no way I was expecting Happily Ever After to take the twists and turns that it did and come out with an ending that left you satisfied and hungry for more. ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures

22285198Description:
The honeymoon is over and it’s time for Sam and Ethan to start the rest of their lives together.

Fate has been kind to the couple so far, but can their luck hold out? Is their relationship strong enough to withstand the challenges ahead?

Fasten your seat belts and hang onto your hats for the final installment in the Matte series.

Warning: Sadism involving real pain, f/f fisting, and the use of toys including canes, floggers, belts, tawses, wax, armbinders, plugs, unusual playroom furniture, and the new punishment warned of during The Honeymoon that gives Sam lots of incentive to submit exactly as Ethan expects.

Surprised is not a word I would have used when I picked up No Safeword: Matte – Happily Ever purestdelightawardAfter. I was expecting to see where Ethan and Sam would go with the S/m lifestyle, how their friends would interact with them now that they were married. There is no way I was expecting HEA to take the twists and turns that it did and come out with an ending that left you satisfied and hungry for more.

The mix of MMA and BDSM worked wonderfully throughout the book. Thrown in-between the two were some incidents that had me reeling …. couldn’t believe that we would see a kink in the armor of what Sam and Ethan had from the beginning. But, in true Candace Blevins style, they worked through the problems, were honest with each other and came out in the end happier than they were on their honeymoon.

The way the story flowed between “scenes”, training and the surprises thrown in, just made Sam and Ethan’s story more valid, true to life. There is no way that life could be all “hearts and flowers”, or “canes and tawses” in this case, and Candace Blevins made sure that we knew and understood that. I will warn you that there are “triggers” in this book that may bring people over the edge and, kudos to Ms. Blevins for realizing that and giving you an alternate chapter to read so that those emotions are not triggered. But, in my opinion, reading the chapter, the message of Safe, Sane and Consensual was pushed to the forefront and hammered home the difference between abuse and BDSM. And, honestly, I didn’t read the alternate chapter since I wanted the true Blevins experience.

During Happily Ever After, we see different sides of both Ethan and Sam. Some loving and caring and others true Sadism/Masochism. We watch as they work their way through an event that could either change their dynamic or bring them closer to together. As friends step in to lend support and offer advice, Sam and Ethan realize that it’s up to them to go forward, to not let the past rule them and to make the life that they envisioned for themselves.

I was intrigued, shocked and surprised with every turn of the page. I didn’t want to put the book down because I was afraid I was going to miss something. I love the way she brings the story together to an ending that had me a little disappointed until I turned the page and found that we will find out what happens between Frisco, Cassie and Cam …. bring on No Safeword: Arabesque!
