The sex scenes are beyond hot, the plot is intricate but comprehensible, and the connection between the three is the stuff of legend. Altogether a great addition to what promises to be a fascinating series. ~ Shadow, Guilty Pleasures

After almost being beaten to death, Olivia Prescott is recovering in Fate Harbor. There she meets firefighter Joshua Parker, who was everything she wants in a man, and she begins to fall in love. Later, his best friend and fellow firefighter, Ian Ransom, returns, and she recognizes a long lost piece of her soul.

Rather than coming between the two friends, she flees back to Boston. When Joshua and Ian find out that Olivia’s life is in danger, they realize that their friendship and Olivia mean more to them than any sense of betrayal. They recognize that to keep her they must learn to share her. Their background in law enforcement allows Joshua and Ian to protect Olivia while helping to discover who is behind the attempts on her life. While finding out who is behind the plot to kill Olivia, can they convince Olivia that the three of them are meant to be together and make a life in Fate Harbor?

It is so delightful to find a new author whose writing captures your interest from the beginning. atruegemawardCaitlyn O’Leary’s Fate Harbor series is shaping up to be a “Must Buy” set of books. Protecting Olivia is the second in the series, and the author does a great job of capturing the emotions and inner dialogue of the characters.

Former foster child Olivia is a dynamo, running a multi-million dollar charity and helping the homeless and others in her spare time. She has little time for relationships, until she is beaten and left for dead on the streets. During her recovery, her foster brother takes her home to Fate Harbor and limits her access to the charity while she heals. With free time on her hands, Olivia begins seeing Joshua, and thinks they may have a future together-until she meets his best friend-Ian. The connection between them is instant and combustible. Unable to chose between them, and unwilling to risk their friendship, Olivia flees back to Boston. But Ian and Joshua discover that Olivia’s attack was not a random act of violence and she is in danger. Can they find a way to save her-and share her?

I loved all three main characters. Olivia is amazing-smart, strong, compassionate and wise, she reaches out to help others regardless of the circumstances. Joshua is her equal in all respects and is the more socially aware of the two men. He acts as a buffer between Ian and other people as Ian tends to plow his way through most social situations. But Ian has his own strengths-not the least of which is the ability to sometimes see what is going to happen and save people’s lives.

The sex scenes are beyond hot, the plot is intricate but comprehensible, and the connection between the three is the stuff of legend. Altogether a great addition to what promises to be a fascinating series.
