An Excerpt

He leaned down, so that his nose was all but touching hers. “Sweetheart, you couldn’t handle what I’m really made of.”

Stupid Del wanted to drag his stubborn mouth closer for the kiss she could all but taste. From the look in his eyes, he wanted the same. Mike might not like her much, but the man wanted her. She could feel the chemistry between them, and it burned.

Self-preservation reared its head, and she ducked under him and hustled to the door leading to the hall. She opened it and waited. “Don’t let it hit you in the ass, Mike.”

He chuckled as he sauntered to join her. “You’ll watch what you say around Colin?”

“Yep. When I see him Wednesday night, I promise to call you a buttwipe instead of an asshole. Fair?”

He sighed. “Guess it’ll have to do. For now.” To her shock, he dragged a rough finger down her exposed neck. “Nice hair, by the way. I like the braids pulled back. Shows off your pretty neck. No tats here, sweetness?”

She didn’t know what to say, frozen by the combustible lust and confusion drowning her system.

He stared into her eyes again, gave a satisfied smile, then left.

She watched his fine ass leave the building, heard a few choice remarks from the guys in the garage who also watched him leave, and yelled at them to get back to work. Then she slammed into her office and plopped her butt in her chair, staring without seeing at the mess on her desk.

She rubbed her neck over the spot he’d touched and tried to be madder about what he’d done. What he’d called her.

Sweetness?

While I have loved each book in Marie Harte’s McCauley brother’s series, she saved the best for last.purestdelightaward From the very first chapter until the completely heart melting end, I was completely enthralled and could not put this book down. Much like the romance stories one of the characters in this series weaves, What To Do With A Bad Boy has everything I expect in a romance and so much more. Sexy alpha hero-check, strong and sassy heroine-check, a bevy of outstanding supporting characters including a precocious 6 year old bound and determined to get a puppy, a new mom and possibly a brother-check, add in some nasty skeletons in the closet including a dead wife, some off the charts panty melting, dirty talking sexy and you’ve got one hell of a book.

If anyone would ask Michael McCauley if he was satisfied with his life he would say absolutely except for the foul mouthed, tatted, pierced mechanic whom his son adores and he can’t seem to stop thinking about. He loves his family, a great kid whom he adores and a job he thrives at; he’s also still trying to move past his wife’s death six years ago when she gave birth to his son. Delilah is making it harder for him to keep his wife’s memory alive because he finds he’s replacing her memories with one’s of Del; a woman who irritates him more every time he sees her.

The last man Del Webster ever wanted to stir up her hormones would be Michael McCauley but damn if he doesn’t just do that and staying away from his family is hard because she likes his brother’s girlfriends and she adores his son Colin who seems to have taken a great liking to her. No matter how much she tries to deny it though the man turns her upside down and inside out so she’s all on board with his idea that they spend time together enjoying each other’s body while they learn more about one another.

I really loved these two together, they seem like complete opposites and in some ways they are but they just fit together. Their verbal sparring is flat out fun and snarky which only makes them better together. Their chemistry is off the charts and the fact that they are both more than willing to explore all kinds of fun things together sexually indicates a trust that neither one is willing to admit exists so early on in their “friendship.” The way they both seem to know what each other needs before they themselves know shows how in tune they are and the fact that they are always, always thinking of Colin first makes them pretty damn perfect. They both have some issues with Mike having the most due to his wife’s death but Del accepts that and even goes out of her way to not only help Mike with his issues but helps Colin in ways no one else has ever seem to be able to do. Honestly watching them together was like poetry in motion and not just in the bedroom.

Charming, incredibly sexy, heartwarming, playful, emotional, and just plain damn wonderful What To Do With A Bad Boy reminds me why I love the romance genre and this author so much. If you haven’t read this series, now is a great time to start and if you have this is the perfect ending to what has been a stellar series. Thank you Marie Harte for once again giving your readers a group of family and friends we can’t help but love!

PS–I have to give this author kudos for writing a book about a single dad and a kid that is just so awesome while Colin is a scene stealer he was so vital to this story and he has a special place in my heart.
