He’s about to make his own luck.

Ten years ago, Beau Dumont made the biggest mistake of his life by letting his high school sweetheart, Devyn Mauvais, slip through his fingers. Now the reformed bad boy will stop at nothing to get her back. Even if it means tricking her into taking a job on his family’s riverboat, The Belle of the Bayou.

When Devyn’s old flame offers her a stint at the boat’s day care center, she sees it as a chance to prove she isn’t just the descendant of Louisiana’s most infamous voodoo queen. Besides, it beats leading ghost tours around New Orleans. Yet when it comes to Beau, Devyn’s all business. She won’t give the sweet-talking playboy another chance to break her heart.

But there’s no escaping temptation in such close quarters, and Beau won’t be satisfied with a few hot nights with the girl he’s always loved. As he strives to make Devyn remember the good times, will his passion and heart be enough to regain her trust?

Make You Remember is the second story in the Dumont Bachelors series, and I have to say it was a atruegemawardheartfelt story of love and second chances. Beau Dumont broke Devyn Mauvais’ heart 10 years ago when he up and left her, because he let fear rule him instead of staying. Now he’s back and wants another shot at the only woman he’s ever love. Devyn hasn’t had it easy over the last 10 years, bouncing from one job to the next, never really finding her niche. Now she has sunk to a new low when she contemplates cashing in on her heritage. Beau comes to her rescue and offers her a job on the river boat as a teacher in the education center. She’s between a rock and a hard place so she accepts the offer and thinks she can handle being near Beau for just two weeks. But can her heart handle being close to Beau Dumont?

Time may have separated them but the attraction and chemistry still sizzles between Beau and Devyn. All logic goes out the window when Beau gets near her. Sex was never their problem. When Devyn reveals a secret, Beau now knows what is holding Devyn back from totally committing to him. Beau isn’t sure what it’s going to take to reassure Devyn that he is changed and not like his father. Beau wanted more than want Devyn was offering, and he had to make her see it his way. Devyn has to figure this out for herself, and it takes a stranger before she realizes what she had and could have. The big gesture at the end is really something and had me on the edge of my seat hoping that it wasn’t going to blow up in her face. Beau is my hero! What he does at the end of the story is amazing. I’m so glad it all worked out for both of these likable characters.

Make You Remember is a perfect title for this contemporary romance of second chances. The path that Devyn and Beau go thru to make their way back to each other wasn’t easy and they had to overcome a few stumbling blocks. Trying to move past the hurt takes a bit of time and sometimes it can be out of your control. Her time spent in the education center rekindle a feeling that she had forgotten and it was fortuitous that her work on the river boat was more than just a job. Even the side story between Ella-Claire and Alex, is relevant to the main characters’ own story and shows how it all could fall apart if you don’t have faith in love. If there is one thing that I know when I read a Macy Beckett book is that you are pretty much guaranteed a sexy, fun read with a good plot and a couple that you feel that are right for the other. That is exactly what I got and I’m more in love with this series and want more.
