Let me explain a little bit about this series of books. Secret Confession: Sidney Housewives is a collection of short stories by eleven Aussie authors and each will be published separately at 99 cents each. This is a group of women who meet twice a month some are friends, some are acquaintances but each one has secrets. Some secrets no one knows about some a few, but in each book the reader will be treated to the secret each housewife is hiding. Going on this first book Virginia by Rhian Cahill, I’m going to say these are “teaser” stories, we get a look at each woman, her secret, and I’m going to assume the man that she is with at the time. In Virginia we get a HFN ending; their situation isn’t completely resolved but the read gets the idea of which way this couple is headed. I can only hope at some point we’ll get another look at this couple because they are completely fascinating.
Virigina has been hiding a secret for a long time the only people who know it are her ex-husband, her lawyer, and Carter the owner/bartended of the club where she selects the next man to give her what she wants; hot, sweaty, no strings sex. This time though Carter has had enough of watching her go through men and he wants her for himself and for more than a night. I loved these two together and their intense and hot as hell passion. They come from two very different worlds but to me that’s what made them even more special; they wanted each other for the people they are not what they have.
I won’t lie, I wanted more from this story because if these two are to make a real go at a relationship they are going to have some obstacles in their way and I want to see how they handle them and each other as they overcome them.
