Growing up with everything she ever had and lost it due to marrying someone her parents disapproved of, Eloise Vaughn is thrust back into elite society for 12 dates with Ricky Langley. But what neither anticipated is losing their heart to the other…and finding what has been missing to make themselves whole after loss.
The set up gives Ricky 12 dates, which reintroduces him back into society, showing he is ok after his devastating loss, but also gives Eloise an “in” to potential employers. Seeing an opportunity to not only rub elbows with the higher ups, but to be with sexy Ricky “no romantic involvement attached”, Eloise jumps at the chance. What neither anticipated was the entanglement their heart would endure from the very first date. Both fighting it, trying to keep the deal as platonic as possible, immediately sets the story. The want keeps the reader engrossed, hoping that they will finally open up to each other. Dealing with loss, thinking neither is good enough for the other, the inner turmoil of both characters tugs at the reader’s heartstrings.
