Make sure you have your tissues close by because in true Mia Sheridan style she will make you cry. Kyland is one of the most emotional and heart wrenching reads I have ever read. ~ Cheyenne, Guilty Pleasures

Dirt poor. Hillbilly. Backwoods hick. Mountain folk.

Tenleigh Falyn struggles each day to survive in a small, poverty-stricken, coal mining town where she lives with her sister and mentally ill mother. Her dream of winning the college scholarship given to one student by the local coal company and escaping the harshness of her life, keeps her going.

Kyland Barrett lives in the hills, too, and has worked tirelessly–through near starvation, through deep loneliness, against all odds–to win the Tyton Coal Scholarship and leave the town that is full of so much pain.

They’re both determined not to form any attachments, but one moment changes everything. What happens when only one person gets to win? When only one person gets to leave? And what happens to the one left behind?

Kyland is a story of desperation and hope, loss and sacrifice, pain and forgiveness, but ultimately, a story of deep and unending love.

THIS IS A STANDALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY TAURUS. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Make sure you have your tissues close by because in true Mia Sheridan style she will make you purestdelightawardcry. Kyland is one of the most emotional and heart wrenching reads I have ever read. I can’t even begin to explain how this book has affected my emotions. Even over a week since I have finished reading, I can still just think of certain parts of the book and I still feel the angst, pain, sorrow, and sadness I felt when I first read it. I review for two separate blogs and as a reviewer you can sometimes get burnt out or begin to lose your love of reading, but Kyland has restored my love for reading once more.

Kyland and Tenleigh both have suffered throughout their lives. They both have gone without, been cold, hungry and feel that they need to get out of their hometown for them to finally be free. The scholarship they both are competing for can make that happen, but only for one person. Neither planned to feel what they felt for each other, neither planned on falling in love and neither planned on the pain that both would feel.

Even as I am typing this I have tears in my eyes because there is one point when you lose your faith in Kyland and I remember crying out and saying no please no when I was reading. I was so enthralled in their storyline that I felt like I was there living it with them but unable to intercede to make the pain go away. For me there is a beauty that comes along with pain when you are able to overcome all that is thrown in your path to make you stumble. Kyland not only is one of my top five star reads of the year so far, but it has made it on to my personal list of top reads ever.
