I did enjoy the author’s lovely description of the scene, I found the characters to be intriguing, and to my surprise I rather enjoyed the paranormal aspects of this book. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures
Description:
Devin Lyle and Craig Rockwell are back, this time to a haunted castle in Ireland where a banshee may have gone wild—or maybe there’s a much more rational explanation—one that involves a disgruntled heir, murder, and mayhem, all with that sexy light touch Heather Graham has turned into her trademark style.

First off I want to be upfront and say that I have never read any other books in author Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters series so I had no background on this group or what they did prior to reading When Irish Eyes Are Haunting. However, even coming in with no knowledge of these characters or this series she did a great job explaining this group, what they do, and who they are. Two recently married members of the Krewe are in Ireland on the guise of a honeymoon but are really there to investigate the death of a family member. Strange things are happening in and around Castle Karney and not all of them are of this world.
This story was entertaining with all the paranormal elements, folk tales, and Irish lore and yes just “hearing” the accents in my head made it well worth reading. It contained way more suspense and mystery than romance which would have been okay except for the fact that I immediately clued in on the “bad guy” so basically I was reading until everyone else figured it out leaving me somewhat disappointed. I did enjoy the interplay between newlyweds Devin and Rocky as they work together to unravel the mystery behind the death of her cousin’s uncle. Their alone time was sensual and showed the love and affection they feel for one another.
All that being said, I can see where lovers of Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters series will love catching up with newlyweds Devin Lyle and Craig “Rocky” Rockwell as well as Will Chan and Kat Sokolov and enjoy a trip to Ireland with a mystery for them to unravel, but I felt like I came in on the middle of something and even though they accomplished what they set out to do, it still felt unfinished to me. I can’t help but feel that this is largely due to me not having read the series up to this point thus not feeling a part of the big picture. While I was disappointed in the mystery aspect of this story, I did enjoy the author’s lovely description of the scene, I found the characters to be intriguing, and to my surprise I rather enjoyed the paranormal aspects of this book.
