Holy freakin’ hell…Larissa Ione serves up one action packed story in episode 5 of the Rising Stormpurestdelightaward series, Calm Before The Storm and if this was the calm, I can only imagine what might be coming up next. With each episode the lives of the people of Storm, Texas become more entwined, the alliances more complicated, the lies a little bit bigger and I am still completely enthralled with this twisted, complicated and compelling series.

Marcus Alvarez returned at the end of the last book and his return has made his mother and sisters quite happy as well as Brittany Rush, but Brittany’s senator father and grandmother aren’t excited one bit. Marcus is proving he’s not the boy that left town; he’s all man and he intends to stand his ground. On top of that Marcus finds out some very interesting information regarding his father’s disappearance.

His best friend Logan’s burgeoning relationship with the pregnant Ginny is beginning to make the notice of people in town and teenager Mallory and Luis finally begin to talk again about the incident that broke them apart.

Best of all Senator Sebastian Rush is not only getting compliance out of Marcus but this piece on the side who by the way is Marcus’ younger sister, Dakota, isn’t too happy about being ignored and begins making plans to get some attention.

I’ve never read Larissa Ione before as she is a paranormal writer, but I thoroughly enjoyed her foray into the contemporary world and hope she explores this genre more. Calm Before The Storm with its interesting new alliances and the conundrum of life in Storm, Texas has seduced me even further into this series and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode to begin.
