Sometimes I enjoy a hot, sexy story where the characters meet and pretty much jump into the sack immediately and that describes Mandy Baxter’s Christmas with the Billionaire Rancher perfectly. There was no denying their immediate chemistry and despite the fact that the heroine set out to meet the hero with one purpose in mind and found something much different this was an entertaining story, but I wanted more. While it ended in a pretty good place; I really felt like there was much left unanswered and had the plot been flushed out it would have been a much stronger story.
Following his father’s death Nate Christensen and his brothers find themselves with one hell of an inheritance that none of them really want, especially when it comes to his company. Chloe Benson is on a mission to get a donation to fund her failing charity and she’s set her sights on Nate as it is rumored he wants to rid himself of his father’s money what she doesn’t expect is to find him charming and sexy nor does she expect the chemistry that seems to flow between them.
I enjoyed both of these characters immensely. Nate is brash and speaks his mind no matter how seemingly inappropriate. Chloe’s heart was huge and it was obvious that her foundation and the kids and teens she helped meant so much to her. It was also easy to see that from the start she saw through Nate’s tough exterior and realized he was hurting and needed a soft place to land.
I don’t doubt their connection but I really would have loved to see more heart to heart conversations between them and even some discussion about life, expectations and plans before the rush to the “I Love You” stage, but even with that this was still a highly enjoyable story and I’m hoping we get to see each of Nate’s brothers find the right woman for them.
