I actually really liked both the main characters but some of their actions drove me a bit crazy and over and over had me questioning their sanity or at least how sane they were being in a relationship. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures
Description:
His business is her pleasure…
Swept off her feet by a charming restaurateur, Whitney Chester envisions a delicious happily ever after—until her prince turns into a total toad. There’s no way she’ll agree to another date with Justin Rawlings, despite their unforgettable night together. But when Justin insists on helping out on her family-run farm in exchange for another chance, it’s an offer Whitney can’t refuse… if only to get revenge on her sweet-talking suitor.
Justin needs a girlfriend to prove to his business partner that he isn’t all work and no play. Romancing Whitney should have been pure pleasure, if a work conflict hadn’t caused him to stand her up. Now he’s determined to win her back—and win his partner’s approval of their restaurant expansion. Keeping Whitney by his side until the deal closes should be easy—if he doesn’t do something foolish. Like fall in love with the small town beauty…

Just Want Somebody To Love by Keri Ford is one of those books that frustrated me, yet there were parts I enjoyed quite a bit. Sometimes it is hard when you really like the characters but also want to hit them upside the head multiple times throughout the book and that’s exactly my problem. I actually really liked both the main characters but some of their actions drove me a bit crazy and over and over had me questioning their sanity or at least how sane they were being in a relationship. One thing I can’t deny is this couple had chemistry in spades and their sexy times were over the top hot and while that was all well and good sex does not make a relationship and for these two it was a battle of epic proportions.
This is the story of a one night stand that simply won’t go away. Whitney Chester and Justin Rawlings have a fling that they both wind up enjoying way more than either one wants to admit. A fight with his brother has Justin bailing and leaving Whitney to deal with the fallout. When Justin returns it is evident the sparks are still there between them but Whitney plays dirty and Justin admires her for her gumption. They really do have one messed up relationship from the start. Whitney is out of sorts in her life; her friends are all pairing up and building new lives and she feels like she is stuck in a rut and despite her issues with Justin he makes her want to change her life. While I admire Justin’s need to better himself constantly it becomes easy to see that his business is his life and while on the surface his people skills are fantastic the skills he needs to maintain relationships quite frankly suck. What I found so interesting about both Whitney and Justin is that they put forth this put together and confident face to the world but underneath they both are plagued with self doubt and self worth issues.
While these two spend a great deal of this book at odds with one another, they do share some pretty entertaining and fun moments as well. It was hard at times watching them flounder. I wanted to hurt Justin for some of the things he did mostly because he never really considered Whitney’s feelings with the decisions he made. And I wanted to shake Whitney for continuing to allow him to treat her with such disrespect. To be honest I almost didn’t finish this book when Justin returned for the third time because for me enough was enough.
I’ve been a big fan of author Keri Ford’s work and while I enjoyed aspects of this book, it was somewhat of a miss for me because I just felt like the relationship was based more on the physical than anything else and I wanted to see these two really have a knock down drag out where they talked about everything that had happened between them and discuss how to move forward. This book felt disjointed to me; at times it was kind of a sweet small town romance and at other times it was a mean and spiteful and so while I did like the characters and even felt for their plight, overall I was somewhat disappointed in this story.
