Tracy Ann Warren brings out the best in each of her characters. She makes us feel a part of their life and never makes us feel like a voyeur … she draws us in with their laughter and tears, makes us love them and then gives us what really want and crave – a beautiful happily-ever-after. ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures

I so was not expecting this story. I loved it – picked it up, started reading it and couldn’t stop until I finished it. Written with exactly what I expect from Tracy Ann Warren, the story was told with just the right amount of laughter, love and lust. She brought the past and present together with style and really made us understand the mind of a pre-teen boy and what lengths he will go to to get the attention of the girl he likes.

Well, even though their lives went in different directions and then brought them back together again, it doesn’t mean that things are going to be any better now that it was in 7th grade for the two of them. Both Brie and Maddox are successful people. Brie an up-and-rising attorney, Maddox a hotel mogul. Apart they are forces of nature but together, there is no stopping them.
Once Brie-Brie faces her fears, accepts her feelings of lust and puts her big girl Mickey Mouse underwear on, she has to admit that her feelings for Maddox are more than just great sex. They have fun together, they have a lot in common, they enjoy each other’s company. Everything that good relationships are built on. But, she is really having a hard time getting past the fact that he’s a client, his actions in the past and his relentless pursuit of her. Finally giving in, she trusts her instincts to get her out before it’s too late. Then, several things happen that have her reeling, hurt and broken, again.
Maddox goes after what he wants. When he realizes the woman playing against him in tennis doubles is his middle-school crush, he can’t help but revert to the 12 year old, obnoxious boy that he was. And, seeing her again also makes him see that she could be so much more than hot sex. Decisions have to be made that with either make or break what he has with Brie. He could only hope that she’ll understand, that she will forgive him, that she’ll eventually come back to him. He’ll wait for her, do whatever he has to, if her just being his attorney is all that she will give him …. he’ll take it.
Deception tore them apart … devastation brings them back together again.
I loved Brie’s story. It brought out every emotion that I had. I laughed at their antics when they were young; I was excited when they finally got together; I was mortified when the truth came out; I cried right with the rest of the Grayson’s at the cemetery; then danced with Elvis in Las Vegas.
But, what I loved the most was how the story was told. It was fluid, written with style and flair. Tracy Ann Warren brings out the best in each of her characters. She makes us feel a part of their life and never makes us feel like a voyeur … she draws us in with their laughter and tears, makes us love them and then gives us what really want and crave – a beautiful happily-ever-after.
