As the captain of the Chicago Aces, Marc Dupuis is all business. The apartment he shares with his teammate and best friend, Duncan, is a refuge from the pressures of fame. But when the sexiest woman he’s ever seen interrupts his early morning coffee wearing only a skimpy cami and matching panties, Marc can’t exactly say he minds. Their chemistry is off the charts. Unfortunately, this girl’s no random puck bunny. She’s Duncan’s little sister—and she’s moving in.
Lovey Armstrong could stare at Marc’s chiseled abs and listen to his French-Canadian accent all day. She just has no idea what’s going on inside his head: When he’s not charming her pants off, Marc makes a Zamboni machine seem warm and cuddly. Lovey knows the team’s bro code says no messing with sisters, but all these mixed messages are hard on a girl’s self-esteem—especially since she’s finally getting her new life together in Chicago. She decides he’s worth another shot . . . because if anyone can melt the ice around Marc’s heart, it’s Lovey.

Hockey lover and author Kelly Jamieson offers up a new series; the Aces Hockey team is ready to skate into your hearts and Major Misconduct is a fantastic start to this new series. Sparks fly when Lovey Armstrong shows up on her NHL hockey player brother’s doorstep and crashes not only into his life but the life of his roommate. Complex characters, an entertaining story, a little bit of conflict and some sexy hot lovin’ made it hard to put this book down.
Sometimes the first book in a series gets bogged down introducing characters that the romance gets lost in the story but that didn’t happen at all in this story. From the first time Lovey meets Marc Dupuis there is a connection between them, I mean it sizzles off the page. Marc is an honorable guy though and knows its hands off because not only is Duncan his teammate, roommate and friend he is Lovey’s older brother and you know “bro code” and all. The thing is I really believe their relationship was inevitable because these two complemented each other so well.
At first I thought Lovey appeared a bit spoiled and immature but it became obvious pretty quickly that she was smart, driven and was determined to be happy in her work and her life. I understood why she decided to move and yes she probably could have handled that a bit better but I also think she knew she had to just do it or someone (her brother or her parents) would try and talk her out of it. I admired her taking a big leap, a risk and leaving her job, her life and her hometown and making a go of realizing her dreams. Lovey is one of those people who lights up a room when she enters, she engages with everyone and while she’s flirty it isn’t an act it is simply her personality. It is also what makes her good at her job as a media consultant and specialist.
Marc is simply one of those heroes that is so swoon worthy. He takes his job as the team’s captain seriously and strives to set a good example for the players. He volunteers for various charities yet he doesn’t advertise it; he simply does it to give back to the community. He goes out of his way to take care of his friends and to make the new members of the team feel welcome and he really, really does try to stay away from Lovey but he is drawn to her on a level he can’t even explain.
I loved these two together and felt that Lovey helped Marc see the world a bit differently, she helps him lighten up a little but she also understands his commitment to his team. Marc adores Lovey zest for live, her ambition and her ability to draw people in with just a few words or a smile but he also grounds her. The moments they spent together whether shopping, cooking, and talking or their sexy times really showed they were connected even though they both agreed they would enjoy each other’s company and part as friends when it ends. Hiding their relationship from Duncan caused some strife especially for Marc who worried about what it would do to their friendship but for the most part these two were so at ease and comfortable with one another once they acted on their attraction.
I loved meeting the other members of the team and the friends that Lovey made along the way and I feel that we are in for some really exciting books down the line. The secondary characters added to this story but they didn’t overtake it and that is a testament to this author’s skill in keeping the romance front and center in this story.
Exciting, fun, flirty and completely sexy Kelly Jamieson’s Major Misconduct is an exciting start to what promises to be another great series.

Thanks Slick
