Wolf From the Past is another great piece of work from N.J. Walters, it had a twist to the plot I never saw coming! ~ Autry , Guilty Pleasures
Description:
Playing dead is easy. Living is hard.
Sylvie LaForge Dubois knew coming back from the dead wouldn’t be easy, but facing her brother and his friends is harder than she imagined. The way Gator Rollins watches her every move makes her decidedly uneasy and excited.
After surviving a forced mating to the abusive Andre Dubois, having a rugged, dangerous werewolf like Gator sniffing around her is scary and thrilling at the same time. She never imagined she’d want another man, but her bone-deep attraction to Gator is too strong to fight.
Gator never got a chance to tell Sylvie he loved her before she was mated with another and, well, died. Now that she’s back, there’s nothing he won’t do to protect her.
Once word gets out, Sylvie’s former pack will be coming for her. No one leaves the Louisiana pack, especially not a female werewolf. But Gator’s determined that this time he won’t let anyone or anything get between him and Sylvie, even if she can’t decide if his touch makes her want to jump his bones…or run for the hills.
Warning: If you believe in second chances, this story will rock your soul, make you swoon, and bring tears to your eyes. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Wolf From the Past is a heart-breaking emotional journey, from loss to forgiveness and eventually life-changing love. Gator and Sylvie have had a life long connection, being born into pack but never feeling as if they truly belonged, outcast within their own society.
Gator has always been a strong-willed, determined wolf. From the day he realized his mate would never be his, he turned into a wolf to be feared by everyone, his physical strength would destroy anyone who challenged him. Unable to live under the cruel controlling alpha, Gator left along with a few wolves’ friends to establish a better, more equal pack. In this pack, he feels as if he belongs, all of the members care about each other and value the others input. The only thing that could be better is if his mate was here beside him, instead he watches his pack member find their mates while his true love died at the hands of another.
Sylvie has been abused most of her life, at the hands of people who should have loved and cared for her. Unfortunately they turned against her and mated her to another that would continue the cycle of abuse. After years and years of abuse, Sylvie does the one thing that takes unimaginable strength and somehow pulls it off. She can only hold off so long before she reaches out for forgiveness and strength from her former pack mates, however she did not think she would ever find true love or a mate again.
Gator and Sylvie is a couple that has fought against all odds, and continues to for the sake of each other. Their emotions are intense and from the moment their eyes meet again the fire ignites again, the pull become stronger than ever. The past years are hard to accept and move forward from but they seek forgiveness and strength from one another, each one drawing out the best qualities from the other. I love N.J. Walters characters, but Gator and Sylvie will always hold a special place in my heart. I crawled into this novel and was a little skeptical about how she would pull this one off, but she did it flawlessly. Each character has depth and emotions that are so real its scary. I was hoping for Gator and Sylvie to overcome all the issues they faced in the past and lay them to rest, pushing forward into a bright future and they did. I cannot recommend N.J.’s paranormal shifters series enough, they suck the read in and continue to hold the readers interest well past the end.
