When Vanessa Riddick’s beloved older brother, Tony, aka Basco, dies unexpectedly, finding his journal leads to more discoveries…like his secret life and friendships in the local BDSM community. Vanessa’s world revolved around work and her brother, so she gravitates to his friends, who welcome her with open hearts.

Reed and Lyle were friends and play-partners with Basco and wondered what happened to him, why he’d suddenly dropped off the radar. As they get to know his little sister, they realize their interest in her is more than trying to keep the spirit of their friend alive.

They are falling for her.

Vanessa has lived her life in a career-driven stranglehold, and now the loss of her brother has sent her into an emotional tailspin. One thing’s for certain—she can’t keep going the way she is. And she’s beginning to wonder if Reed and Lyle might be the answer to her finally having the life she’s longed for.

As always, when Tymber Dalton puts her incredible talent to use to draw in her readers emotionally, purestdelightawardshe succeeds beautifully in this addition to the Suncoast Society story.

Hot Sauce is the story of Vanessa Riddick, who has become a workaholic since her mother attacked them both and threw them out of the house when Vanessa’s brother confessed he was gay. She has few friends and no interests other than Tony. When Tony dies, she is devastated and reaches out to the people he knew, which turns out to be people in the BDSM scene. As she comes to know the cast of characters (all people we have met before in the series) she becomes more comfortable with them. She has always accepted her brother’s gender choices, but wasn’t aware of his kinky side until his death..

Play partners Reed and Lyle wondered why they hadn’t heard from Basco (Tony)for several weeks. They had been considering asking him to join them as a third partner when they discovered from Vanessa that he had died from pneumonia. The loss is devastating and both join other Suncoast Society members in taking his sister under their wing. It quickly becomes clear she isn’t handling the loss as well as she projects, and the two take her in. The three of them find they are attracted to each other, but Vanessa thinks she is vanilla and isn’t sure she can join in their games. Can they convince her she is one of them?

Highly emotional, obviously drawn from actual events, and extremely well crafted, this book will tug at your heartstrings. The characters are all likable, the lessons drawn important , and the story captivating. In addition to meeting our favorites from the Suncoast Society, we learn more about Kade, one of the characters from Dalton’s emotional tour de force, The Reluctant Dom and how his memory still affects those who knew him. Overall, a wonderful book and thoroughly enjoyable read.
