The heroine, Jade, is feisty and sweet and has some of the worst luck I’ve encountered in a character. She doesn’t curse and uses words like heinie, derrière and bootie. Bless her heart! But she has a decent head on her shoulders and does her best to hold her own.
After she finds herself in a spot of trouble, thanks to her rotten ex-boyfriend, which leaves her relatively unemployable, in order to make ends meet Jade has starts her own business. As a professional cuddler. I gotta admit, I grabbed this story for that plot-line alone. I’ve heard of cuddle parties, so this was something intriguing to me.
The hero, Ryland, is a super sexy hottie Jade takes on as a client. He makes her job both difficult and highly enjoyable. Jade tries to maintain professional boundaries, but he’s having none of that. It’s clear he wants her. She wants him, but won’t embrace her desires. She holds out as long as she can but you can pretty much guess how that turns out.
There’s MMA fighting action, bikers, guns and kidnapping. What’s not to love! This story was a fun read. It was a blend of action and suspense, lighthearted and a bit gritty. Oh yeah, and the sex is blazing. Four and a half stars.
