I found Kate Serine’s writing and storytelling skills fresh and exciting. She was able to mix the fun with the serious and the emotions of both Kyle and Abby were brilliantly written so that we exactly knew what both of them were thinking and feeling throughout the story. ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures

Another surprise book for me. I know that I thoroughly enjoy any story that revolves around police atruegemawardinvestigations but “Stop At Nothing” drew me in right from the beginning and really had me putting my own police skills through the ringer figuring everything out. And, just when I thought I knew and understood what was going to happen, I didn’t.

Kyle and Abby were explosive. Kyle and his father were volatile. But, they all had the same results in mind. Find the person or persons responsible for kidnapping Abby’s sister and terrorizing her family. Kyle had his gut instincts as to who and why and knew, deep down, that this was also connected with his investigation in New Orleans. Now, to prove everything with the help of Abby … and to prove to Abby that what they had three years ago was the real thing.

Abby had no idea that taking on this job was going to the terrorizing of her family. After decoding the messages she was paid to hack into, finding out exactly who her brother-in-law really was and having to protect her nephew, the last thing that she expected was Kyle rushing back into her life. Being in his arms again was exactly what she needed and what she was trying to avoid. There is no way he will forgive her for lying to him and for what she kept from him all those years ago. But, she needed him right now. Needed him to help her, needed him to understand, she just … needed him. There was no way that she would be able to keep the love from shining through her eyes or keep him out of her bed. And, as this story was unfolding, I became more and more intrigued.

Now, we all know that the hero and heroine with eventually end up together but Kate Serine had me seriously wondering just who was going to end up dead, who was going to come out of this unscathed. Were Kyle and his father going to have the ultimate blow-out? Was he going to make amends with all of his brothers? How was he going to face the ultimate betrayal? These and many other questions went through my mind as I was reading and I was really interested to see how everything was going to play out. She did a wonderful job of keeping me on the edge of my seat by keeping the story fresh and alive …. keeping the story moving forward. The flashbacks to the time they were together before Kyle left for the FBI, were poignant and lent credence to the present time and situations. I found her writing and storytelling skills fresh and exciting. She was able to mix the fun with the serious and the emotions of both Kyle and Abby were brilliantly written so that we exactly knew what both of them were thinking and feeling throughout the story.

Complicated and complex characters, writing that keeps you engaged in the plot and a story that leaves wanting more are all signs of a wonderful book and an author who cares about her readers. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in this series.
