Clay Martin was legendary for succeeding in all of his missions. But when the world-weary lawman returned to Mission Creek, he entered into an undercover operation that could be his ultimate undoing.

For, over cocktails at the Lone Star Country Club, filthy rich Ford Carson had made the Texas Ranger an offer he couldn’t refuse: marry Ford’s willful daughter Fiona and receive a spread of his very own. However, the battle-scarred Clay soon learned that his pampered bride wasn’t looking to be tamed–she was looking for lessons in lovemaking! Could this disarming woman be foolish enough to have set her sights on Clay’s splintered heart?

This book has every romance cliche but it worked for me. Our lead character, Clay Martin, was a purestdelightawardtroubled teen that enrolls into the military. Clay heads home, after leaving the service, becomes a Texas Ranger and tries his best to keep the family ranch.

His job is demanding but is made an offer, by one of the wealthy members of the community, to marry his daughter and basically tame her.
I loved Clay. He’s everything that I look for in a romance hero. Strong, dependable, hard-working and such a sweetie.

Fiona is our spoiled rotten Princess. She wasn’t very likeable in the beginning. I found her to be arrogant, demanding and very immature for her age. But the longer she was with Clay the more her personality changed for the better. She was caring, generous and decided to give her time and resources to help her community.

When they worked together they accomplished so much. Fiona helping with the ranch. Clay helping with her cause. I liked the normalcy of this couple.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. The series focuses around a country club, their members, the mob and the surrounding community.
