Fighting for Flight is a well rounded story with scorching hot sex, a cast of characters you can’t help but love, and it’s the beginning of a series that you will want to read repeatedly. I know, because I have. ~ Afrodyt, Guilty Pleasures

What happens when in order to win, you’re forced to lose?

The only daughter of an infamous Las Vegas pimp, Raven Morretti grew up an outsider. Liberated from the neglectful home of her prostitute mother, she finds solace as a mechanic. With few friends, she’s content with the simple life. Flying under the radar is all she knows and more than she expects.

Until she catches the eye of local celebrity, UFL playboy, Jonah Slade.

Weeks away from his title fight, Jonah is determined to stay focused on everything he’s trained so hard to achieve. Undefeated in the octagon, he’s at the height of his career. But resisting Raven’s effortless allure and uncomplicated nature is a fight he can’t win.

Jonah trades in his bad-boy reputation and puts his heart on the line. But when her father contacts her, setting in motion the ugly truth of her destiny, Jonah must choose. In a high-stakes gamble where love and freedom hang in the balance, a war is waged where the price of losing is a fate worse than death.

Will the hotheaded Jonah be able to restrain his inner fighter to save the woman he loves?

Or will Raven be forced into a life she’s been desperate to avoid?

This novel holds a special place in my heart because it was my first MMA fighter novel. Up untilpurestdelightaward then I had read heroes that were billionaires and athletes and soldiers. Spies and Doms and Cowboys. I’d even sprinkled in some mobsters, politicians and the ubiquitous biker bad boy. But when I met Jonah Slade, I was never the same. You see the covers of these romance novels swimming in guys with these bodies that have muscles on top of muscles, but Jonah was the first romance hero I read who made me believe that could be him on the cover. I fell for Jonah because his aggression was tempered by an instinct to nurture and protect. He was careful, patient and conscientious with Raven and he was convincing in his quest to earn her trust.

Raven Moretti was such a sweetheart. She was just as delicate as the birds tattooed on her torso and yet had a fierceness about her that was endearing. I usually don’t like when a heroine is plagued with self doubt and insecurities, but her character was developed in such a way where I really could understand and relate to them. It wasn’t over the top, and given her age, pretty believable.

The storyline captivated me because it didn’t focus on one particular plot point too heavily. Jonah was a millionaire, Raven was an innocent virgin. Jonah was training for the MMA heavyweight title fight and Raven had some incredibly harrowing family drama she was working out. Everything comes to a head and the ending was climactic and incredibly satisfying.

Fighting for Flight is a well rounded story with scorching hot sex, a cast of characters you can’t help but love, and it’s the beginning of a series that you will want to read repeatedly. I know, because I have.
