The whole town is ready for the holidays: The Cookie Club is baking, Main Street glitters with lights, the carolers sing . . .There’s even a Christmas wedding.

When bodyguard Ryder Southerland sees his best friend’s sister Katie at an L.A. Christmas party, he mistakes the slinky blonde for a celebrity stalker and tackles her. Then they tackle each other . . . at his place. The next morning, Katie’s gone, and Ryder tells himself it’s for the best. It isn’t. Now, one Christmas later, Ryder’s falling for the woman he’s been missing in the town he hasn’t missed at all . . .

Katie Cheek’s outgrown the romantic fantasies she had about Ryder when she was fifteen. Katie’s packed their hot night away in a box labeled “fling”—or tried to. But Twilight’s bad boy is the best man in her brother’s wedding. And up-close and personal, Ryder’s impossible to ignore. So Katie can either go into hiding—or surrender to Christmas magic.

Welcome back to Twilight! It’s Christmas time again and Katie’s brother Joe is getting married afteratruegemaward meeting Gabi during the house swap. Now its Katie’s turn to get her story when she went to LA and literally gets tackled by the person she had a crush on when she was 15 years old. Ryder Southerland was and still is a good looking guy, and when he mistakes her for a stalker things get really interesting. Katie is bolder now and they hook up for one night of great sex with no strings attached before she returns to her hometown of Twilight, Texas. A year later and she has to face him again because he’s in the wedding as Joe’s best man. Can this be any more awkward for her?

Katie Cheek came back from LA with a new purpose and a new plan for herself to move on with her life after her fiancé died. She starts a new business and works hard to declutter and organize others just as much as she likes neatness and order in her life. Ryder however doesn’t fit into that category at all and that makes it a conundrum for her to figure out. Her character took some time and some much needed advice from a client to get her to that point where she can live with herself and love Ryder too. Katie is also intuitive to understand how Ryder is and work with his inability to express himself verbally, which makes me like her even more.

Ryder had a huge chip on his shoulder when it comes to his father, his childhood and the town of Twilight, who thought of him as a trouble maker, and for a good reason. Losing his mother and then dealing with his stepmother, he lashed out and caused trouble. Leaving town at 17 to join the army he found the order he needed to take control of his out of control life and then uses those skills as a bodyguard in LA. Going back for the wedding was one thing but then to deal with his father’s illness and the state of his father’s ranch put a lot on his plate, but he also wanted to see if there could be something more with Katie, if she would let it. He had to take a long look at his past in order to take steps to prevent his future from turning out like his father’s, and he knew he had to change his ways in order to keep that from happening. I like those lightbulb moments in a story when the character realizes something definitive. Ryder’s big moment at the end of the story was endearing and definitely a show stopper to leave this reader with a happy grin on her face.

Lori Wilde has done it again and written another good story in the quaint and charming town of Twilight. This latest installment brings you back to why the town is such a special place with its holiday traditions, good caring people, and a place for people to fall in love. Katie and Ryder both made some big changes in their life when they knew it was time to shake things up for the better. They both handled a situation as best they could but found out what really mattered to them. I’m happy to say that both of them deserve happiness with one another as they’ve shut the door on their past and want to forge a new beginning together.
