Master Bits and Mercenary Bites is a gift to readers who have been following Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenary series. It is a series of vignettes that catch readers up with many of the various characters from the books, interspersed with recipes from Sean Taggart’s restaurant, Top.
Some of the chapters are funny, some are touching, and some are sexy, but all are well written. Don’t expect full stories here, and this is definitely not a stand-alone book. But for those of us who have followed McKay Taggart for many years, this is a must. We also learn what the future might hold for some of the team members.
Some of the characters we continue to follow include Ian and Charlotte and the newest member of the family; Simon and Chelsea, Alex and Eve, and Sean and Grace, among others. Ian’s chapter details the worst-and best day of his life, all in the same 24 hour period.
And best of all, the recipes, provided by Southern food expert Suzanne Johnson, sound delicious. I’m going to have to try some of them.
