Mari Carr has a wonderful way of telling a story. She doesn’t leave you hanging and she doesn’t make you feel bereft. Her stories just flow off the pages and she brings you into the lives of loves of each of her characters. ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures

I have such mixed feelings writing this review. Why? Because I know I am saying good-bye to the purestdelightawardCollins clan and because you are finally going to get to know Pat and Sunday Collins … the Matriarchs of the Collins family.

Even from her grave, Sunday Collins had a huge influence on her children. They always looked to her and her wisdom to guide them through their daily lives. “Sunday’s Side” was as revered as the Pub. Now we get to see and understand just how she came into Pat’s life and became his whole world.

It’s Christmas. Kiera, Tris, Killian, Teagan, Ewan, Riley and Sean are all gathered around the Christmas Tree with Dad. As they pass around the bottle and each make their toasts, they are surprised to hear Dad say “To Conall Brannagh”. And the love story of Pat and Sunday is revealed. No, I am not repeating it here. The story is too precious and beautiful to ruin it for you. Let’s just say that it’s a fitting ending to a glorious series.

Mari Carr has a wonderful way of telling a story. She doesn’t leave you hanging and she doesn’t make you feel bereft. Her stories just flow off the pages and she brings you into the lives of loves of each of her characters.

As we say farewell to the Collins’, we can only hope that she lets us revisit them again some day in the future. They’ve all started their families and they are all living their happily-ever-afters. It would be wonderful to see Pat as grandfather … to see him hand down his wisdom and memories of Sunday to the next generation.

So, in closing, I will leave you with an old Irish nursery rhyme … one that you have seen many times throughout this series and has come to mean a lot to me.

Monday’s Child
Monday’s child is fair of face,
Tuesday’s child is full of grace,
Wednesday’s child is full of woe,
Thursday’s child has far to go,
Friday’s child is loving and giving,
Saturday’s child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath day,
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay.
