The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

I adored this book!! I devoured it and simply couldn’t put it down. It had no buring secrets or over the top drama or unrealistic romantic situations. Nor was there any of the “You deserve better than me” martyrdom that drives me nuts. What there was was two people that met and, from the start, were snarky and argumentative and just clicked.

Drew Jagger was what I have come to expect as a Vi Keeland hero. Handsome and sure himself. A guy who may be wary of relationships and a bit of a manwhore, but deep down, a really good guy who has just been hurt or is scared of commitment. He’s confident with the right amount of cocky keeping him just this side of being a jerk, and just fun. He curses, he’s crass, but he has the intelligence and honesty to back it up. From the first minute he met Emerie, asking if she made a “wrong turn at the corner of Crazy and Nutjob”, I fell for this story and these two people.

Emerie Rose was just a sweet heroine. She was naïve, but I liked her. She had come to New York, following a man that she felt she loved, even though the feelings weren’t returned. We’ve all been there and I could sympathize with her situation, but I loved that it didn’t break her or turn her from relationships. Especially one with Drew that just grew organically. From the moment she met him and launched herself at him to show him her awsome krav maga moves, to the moment they realized they were falling in love, there was nothing rushed or off about their relationship. It grew slowly and subtly, quietly appearing without either of them noticing. And it was beautiful.

The lengths that Drew and Emerie went through to show one another that they cared just touched my heart. The small things that meant a lot and the big things that meant the world, they all combined to make a book filled with snorting laughter and heartbreak and love.

I can’t recommend this book enough. If you like snark, romance, dirty talking cocky heros, little gestures that make you melt and an adorable little boy to boot, this book is for you.
