Agent Undercover…Identity Exposed
The FBI: Special Crimes Unit series continues
FBI agent Sam Sheridan’s mission is to take down a human trafficking ring and save missing teens—until he witnesses a kidnapping. Blowing his cover, Sam rescues Ella McIntire. But she’s not safe yet. While searching for the truth about her cousin’s death, Ella came too close to a dangerous secret. And now only Sam can protect her from the men determined to silence her.
Ella is trying to figure out who tarnished her cousins name. She never thought it would wind her up in the killers webs of lies, it quickly did. Ella is a strong character both mentally and physically, but everyone has their breaking point. FBI Agent, Sam, is able to connect with Ella on a deeper level and keep her moving and motivated to survive. Believing her cousins death was not suicide, Sam formed the foundation of trust with Ella. Sam and Ella were working against all odds and survived.
Ms. McCoy does a great job of making novels packed with intense action, the characters are always on their toes. The physical and emotional toll these characters took, was considerable. The supporting characters added to the plot, it gave a deeper sense of trust and community within the small group. Ms. McCoy made her plot believable, while touching on very sensitive issues. The chemistry between Ella and Sam was a little harder to believe in, it felt a little forced. The relationship developed in a time packed with fear and fight or flight, it would be difficult to have a sweep you off your feet romance. Gone is a good read, I would have liked to see a little more of the relationship before the happy ending; however I’m still satisfied with how it all worked out. I would recommend Gone to readers who enjoy more suspense than romance, its a quick read with a happy ending!
