Based on the title, I wasn’t expecting the heat that Nick And Evelyn had in Meet Cute. ~Paige – Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Evelyn
I’d heard people talking about the smoking hot guy that opened up a tattoo parlor just off the plaza, so even before I met Nick, I knew he was sexy as hell.

What I didn’t know about him was that he was also sweet, kind, and funny. Or that he had a daughter I would adore from the second I met her. Or that when I was with them, I would truly know what it felt like to be home. But is there any way that Nick could return my feelings? Could this ever really be my new family—my new home?

Nick
Ever since my wife died two years ago, I’d been in a tailspin. It was all I could do to keep going day after day, making a good life for my daughter Olive. The only problem was, I was drifting through life like a zombie—and so was my little girl.

All of that changed when we met Evelyn. It was like she was magic, bringing both of us back to life for the first time in years. Because of her, there was finally a light at the end of a long tunnel. But is what I feel enough to risk the stability I’ve fought so hard for?

Meet Cute is the final book in the Someday series by Melanie Shawn. It brings closure to this circle of friends we’ve laughed and cried with. Eveyln’s story is no different. This writing duo brought a lot of emotion to her story.

I loved this book form the start. Evelyn is riding high from her theater debut and having fun with her friends. She definitely wasn’t prepared for Nick to walk in. Its evident from their first meeting that there are sparks between.

Nick is juggling being a single father, a business owner and trying to put his life together date the loss of his wife. He’s doing a good job on all aspects except him and his daughter, Olive, need a little joy.

Despite their chemistry, Nick and Evelyn put their wants on the back burner as Olive is their first priority. Olive is still dealing with the loss of her mother. She’s adorable and sweet but skittish when meeting new people, especially women, but like her father she falls for Evelyn too.

The authors amped up the heat the more I read. I loved how neither character held back. They were willing to put their emotions on the line. Besides the sexual chemistry the authors were able to bring an emotional connection in the later chapters. I shed a few happy tears at the end for this couple.

We also got a glimpse of what the future holds for Cat, Michelle Brandy and Sandy. It was a enjoyable heartfelt series to read.
