Flame starts us on our reading journey of the next generation of Gallo’s. It’s fast paced and drama filled but we’ll have to wait until Burn to get all the answers we’re looking for. ~ Paige Turner – Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Synopsis:
Gigi Gallo’s childhood was filled with the roar of a motorcycle and the hum of a tattoo gun. Fresh out of college, she’s about to start working at her family’s tattoo studio — Inked. But when she shows up the first day, she never expects to run into someone tall, dark, and totally sexy from her not-so-innocent past.
Pike Moore is a bossy biker with a cocky attitude and an even bigger ego. He came to Inked to start over. New town. New job. New roots. None of that included coming face-to-face with the hot chick who spent a week in his bed before she vanished without a trace.
But when Pike’s dark family history catches up with him, can he stop Gigi from being caught in the crossfire?
I know we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but this cover is HOT AF! This picture is exactly who I think of as Pike. I loved him as a character. He’s tough and a take charge guy. He’s guard emotionally and a bit of a loner. He’s been on his own for years and wants to put down roots and settle down. He believes he found that when he takes a job at Inked but life throws him a curve ball in the form of GiGi.
I’m not sure how I feel about GiGi. I liked her in the beginning of the book. She was a little naive but was sweet. Fast forward 1 year and I found her to be sassy but rude. She could go from tough take charge to needy and in one sentence. And seemed so wishy washy. To me, she had a hard time finding her personality but then again she is only 21.
Flame focused on Pike and GiGi’s romantic relationship. They had connection but I felt it was one sided. Pike was ready too go all in but GiGi held so much back. Again, this could be because of her age .
In addition to their relationship this book held a good amount of drama and suspense. I loved that the entire Gallo family was represented in this book. There were parts of the storyline that didn’t make sense or were glanced over. Since this ends on a cliffhanger, I’m hoping Chelle Bliss wraps up the loose questions in Burn.
