Win Big is simply spectacular, I was engaged from the first page until the last and I fell in love with this couple and their insane chemistry. Ms. Jamieson really outdid herself on this one, it is a Wynner! ~ Slick – Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
Synopsis:
Everly Wynn: As the only daughter in the Wynn family of hockey heroes, I never shared the ice with my brothers—or the approval they got from my father.
And that was before the scandal that ruined my life at sixteen.
Now that I’ve put all that behind me and built a successful career, the last thing I need is another hockey player in my life.
Especially one like Wyatt Bell.
He’s an arrogant, fast-living party boy. I hate how he gets by on his good looks and charm.
So why can’t I get him out of my mind?
Wyatt Bell: Life is short, and you’ve got to live it to the fullest. I learned that the hard way.
So on the ice, I always play to win, and on the town, fun and flirting are my game.
Because it’s better to laugh your way through the pain than to let them see you’re hurting—but I’ll never stop wishing I could find someone to share the real me with.
Something about Everly Wynn makes me think she could be the one.
But all she sees is a hockey jock hooked on good times.
If she didn’t take herself so seriously, maybe she would take a chance on being happy.
There are some authors I read that consistently put out a superior product and Kelly Jamieson isone
of those authors. Her Wynn Family series has been entertaining to say the least, but Win Big is by far my favorite in the series. It is sort of an opposites attract, enemies to lovers story, but it is filled with emotion, characters who have some baggage that makes them the way they are, and because a Wynn is involved, a whole lot of mixed up family politics. I found it impossible to put down and when it was over I wanted to begin reading it again.
Since she was 16 years old and made some bad choices that devastated her parents, Everly Wynn has strived to be a model citizen and daughter. She makes sure her behavior is above reproach and she doesn’t harm the Wynn family name in any way. To people around her she comes off as stand-offish, a bit of a snob, and unfeeling, but underneath she is a good person just trying to make her parents and family proud and live up to the Wynn name. So on New Year’s Day when she wakes up alone in Wyatt Bell’s bed and remembers they make out session from the night before she knows she has to nip it in the bud right away, Wyatt on the other hand has different plans.
You’ll I loved these two together, Wyatt is so full of life and lives each day to the fullest while Everly is all about work and keeping up appearances, but the chemistry between them…whew, so hot! Their verbal sparring is foreplay and they’ve been at it for a long while so it isn’t a surprise when it finally boils over into more. What I really enjoyed was watching the metamorphosis of Everly with Wyatt’s help and watching them both open up to the things in their past that has made them the people they are today.
The Wynn family drama really comes into play in this book and I was happy to see all of the kids and grandkids working together to try and put their family back together. I’m really interested to see how things shake out as this series progresses.
As for Wyatt and Everly, they have some fun, they get in a bit of trouble, they make some mistakes, and they have a few moments of indecision, but through it all it is evident they have something special and when they are apart they both realize just how much the other person makes their life better.
