Paul Rudnick really brought the Royal Family into a hilarious and interesting light. I loved how he brought these wonderful characters together, wrote a story that had happily-ever-after that was just perfect for the two of them. ~ Kitty – Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Synopsis:

When a lonely American event planner starts dating the gay Prince of Wales, a royal uproar ensues: is it true love or the ultimate meme? Find out in this hilarious romantic comedy.

After having his heart trampled on by his cheating ex, Carter Ogden is afraid love just isn’t in the cards for him. He still holds out hope in a tiny corner of his heart, but even in his wildest dreams he never thought he’d meet the Crown Prince of England, much less do a lot more with him.  Yes, growing up he’d fantasized about the handsome, openly gay Prince Edgar, but who hadn’t? When they meet by chance at an event Carter’s boss is organizing, Carter’s sure he imagined all that sizzling chemistry. Or was it mutual?

This unlikely but meant-to-be romance sets off media fireworks on both sides of the Atlantic.  With everyone having an opinion on their relationship and the intense pressure of being constantly in the spotlight, Carter finds ferocious obstacles to his Happily Ever After, including the tenacious disapproval of the Queen of England. Carter and Price Edgar fight for a happy ending to equal their glorious international beginning. It’s a match made on Valentine’s Day and in tabloid heaven.

I so loved reading this wonderful story. It had just a bit of drama, a little heartbreak and yet a wonderful ending. I laughed in parts until I cried and I was totally cheering Carter and Prince Edgar on throughout the story. These two characters were so much fun and unpredictable. From pancakes to tabloids, I wasn’t sure what was going to be around the next corner for them. But, I definitely felt the chemistry roll right off the pages from the minute they met. They made each other so happy and Carter just had a way about him that put everyone at ease. I so enjoyed watching him get the stuffy, yet exceedingly handsome, Prince loosen up, open up and trust. And, the Prince showing Carter how to love again … that was just so special.

Yes, there were characters that you will love to hate. But, even though she came off as being a little bit of a bitch, you couldn’t help but like the Queen of England. Carter’s ex … yea, not so much. He was just a publicity hound always looking for attention. Carter’s friend were absolutely wonderful! They brought a sense of fun, excitement and adventure throughout the story. I loved them!

Paul Rudnick really brought the Royal Family into a hilarious and interesting light. I loved how he brought these wonderful characters together, wrote a story that had happily-ever-after that was just perfect for the two of them. He definitely knows how to bring humor into some situations that you wouldn’t expect. I smiled and cheered, laughed and cried … but … I most definitely loved this story and can’t wait to read more.
