Stripped was low on angst and high on sweetness with a side of sexy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. ~ Slick – Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Synopsis:

A ripped, transgender construction worker and a tweed-wearing, tortoise-shell-cozy-knitting, bear of a professor… Somebody’s getting stripped.

The last place I expected to run into my childhood camp crush was at the local university, looking all kinds of cute in a tweed jacket with a nervous blush. I’ve always had a bit of a thing for the nerdy professor type.

Demetri says he doesn’t date. I want to believe that it’s true and not that he’s not interested in a transgender man like me. If all he can offer me is friendship, I’m more than happy to take it.

Coy looks during sweaty workouts, rainy nights on his couch watching him knit shell cozies for his pet tortoise… I’m falling for him whether I want to or not.

I really enjoyed this sweet, sexy, low angst story between two 40 year old men (one who is trans and the other a shy, quiet professor with body image issues). Stripped was low on angst and high on sweetness with a side of sexy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Two 40 year old men who went to summer camp together when they were pre-teens find one another in a very unusual and somewhat embarrassing way for Miller who is trans. Demetri is a shy, college professor with body image issues and pretty much the opposite of Miller who is a work-out junkie, but these two sweet souls both of whom are lonely were truly meant to me. I loved that Miller wasn’t afraid to ask Demetri if his trans status bothered him when Dem didn’t want to date him, little did Miller realize that Dem was fighting some demons from previous lovers and while he lusted after Miller he was afraid to get into another situation that made him feel worse about himself.

I always enjoy spending time with the Four Bears gang and their significant others and this book was no different. What I really loved is they pulled Demetri into their fold right away helping him be more positive about himself.

Sometimes book just have way too much drama and this book really had none and I appreciate it. It was just what I needed.
